Leukodystrophy

Description: Leukodystrophy is a group of rare genetic disorders that affect the central nervous system by disrupting the growth or maintainance of the myelin sheath that insulates nerve cells. These disorders are progressive, meaning that they tend to get worse throughout the life of the patient.

Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD)

Description: is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the breakdown or loss of the myelin sheath surrounding the nerve cells in the brain and progressive dysfunction of the adrenal gland.
